18th Century Kabalistic Thought and Literature

Enter the world of Kabalistic mysteries! What is Kabala's understanding of the Divine? What do the mystics say about the human psyche? Can one reconcile the concept of an omnipotent God with the realities of pain and suffering? Can you read the bible at face value?

In this course, Stevenson 18, we will closely examine these and other issues through the lens of 18th Century kabalistic thought and literature, within the broader context of the revolutionary rise of the Hasidic movement.
